Hang your frames right the first time

Draw your wall, compare how the frames look and download where each nail goes, with a scaled plan and a measurement table. Free, in your browser.

How it works

  1. Measure the wall. Width and height; if there is furniture below, its width and height.
  2. Add your frames. Tap a common size or type your own; say how many.
  3. Pick the layout and download. Rows, columns or center; you see each frame, its nails and download the PDF.

What you get and what you don’t

Cuelga calculates positions with exact geometry: equal gaps, a centered arrangement and, for each frame, how far from the floor and from the left wall the nail goes (one, or two on wide frames). The PDF includes a scaled plan, the nail table and, for frames that fit on one sheet (up to 7.5 × 10.9 in on Letter), 1:1 templates; for the others, cut cardboard or paper to the plan’s measurements.

  • It is a geometric proposal: it does not judge design, color or visual weight.
  • The center height (57–60 in in many guides) is a habit, not a rule: there is no provable official rule; adjust it.
  • It does not check wall type, weight, anchors or hidden services: before drilling, choose the right anchor and make sure no cables or pipes run behind.

Frequently asked questions

How far apart should the frames be?

Many guides suggest 2–3 in (5–10 cm), less for small frames. It is personal taste: try it in the drawing.

What is the distance from the nail to the top edge?

It is how far the ring or wire drops from the top edge of the frame when pulled taut. Measure yours; we default to 2 in (5 cm).

Does it work for heavy frames?

It only gives positions. For heavy or very wide frames use two support points and an anchor suited to your wall; it is not a safety calculation.

What does the PDF include?

A scaled plan with a scale bar, a nail table and 1:1 templates for the frames that fit an A4 or Letter sheet (up to 7.5 × 10.9 in), with no watermark.
